Energy transition
hydrogen in living lab
in this project H2@Home we tested a full operational hydrogen installation for heating & tapwater; from gas supply, transport (underground & into the house), usage-measurement, in-house piping & H2 boiler. With a large group of companies, throughout the entire construction column (energy companies, installers, component suppliers (pipe, boiler etc)) it was the first time in Europe to do this in a living lab (people actually lived in the house). Of course with all possible safety measurements & installations (sensors). Because no standards or laws are yet defined for the usage of hydrogen in buildings, it was hard to convince local authorities and get approval.
It was proven that hydrogen can be used in houses, just like natural gas, and first set up of standardisation is now being made.

transfer units (heat disribution)
(bron Flamco.nl)
development of a new generation transfer stations with full connectivity, remote control & fault finding, new materials and better energy performance
thermal batteries
(bron Flamco.nl)
market implementation & further development of thermal batteries. Integration in heating systems, mostly combined with solar panels to save gas and stabilise the (electrical) grid
underfloor heating control
(bron Flamco.nl)
development of a new generation manifolds for underfloor heating, fully self-commissioning with remote control (app) in order to save energy and make the life of installers more easy
